Spectral information
The swell data shown on the individual beach reports displays the dominant swell characteristics from the NWW3 forecast.
Superimposed on to the above map of the dominant swell are spectral swell buoys that provide extra detail to the various swell components at those points. This data can be used along side the individual beach reports to get a thorough idea of the forecasted swell phases below the dominant swell.
Sometimes these obscurred swells can produce high period quality swells that deliver the goods. Click on a buoy on the map to view the spectral forecast as shown by the example on the left.
