If you are interested in wave sailing, and equally if you are not, it is important to understand the way swell is forecast so you can either avoid it; or get in it. Use this chart along with the Swell Period Charts, which is essential in understanding the energy of a given swell. We recommend that if planning a trip, take a look at these charts first then go to the individual beach reports for more detailed information of the swell characteristics at your beach.
